Zadig nous a accompagné visiter notre quatrième château de ces vacances. Cela faisait quelques temps que j'avais entendu parler des magnifiques jardins de Villandry, il était donc temps de s'en rendre compte par nous-mêmes. 

Zadig accompagnied us to visit our fourth castle of these holidays. It had been some times since I had heard about the magnificent gardens of Villandry, it was thus necessary time to see it by ourselves. 

Nous sommes arrivées en fin de matinée. J'avais décidé de déjeuner sur place au restaurant du château appelé "La Douce Terrasse" pour profiter au maximum de notre escapade à Villandry. Nous avons passé un très bon repas accompagné d'un service parfait. Nous avons été servi très rapidement (à midi nous étions 3 tables) par un serveur de bonne humeur et jovial. 

We arrived at the end of morning. I had decided to have lunch in the Castle's restaurant called "La Doulce Terrasse" to maximize our time in Villandry. We spent a very good meal accompagnied with a perfect service. We were very quicly served (at noon we were only three tables) by a good-humored and cheerful waiter.

Que trouve-t-on dans l'assiette ? / What's in the plate ?

Les produits proposés sont frais et de saison. J'ai pris une salade de magret de canard assaisonnée d'une sauce à la violette que j'ai adoré. M a pris une cuisse de canard avec un gratin dauphinois qui était très bon. En dessert, j'ai pris une délicieuse tarte à la poire et M a pris une crème brûlée à la lavande. 

The products are fresh and of season. I took a seasoned salad of duck with a "sauce à la violette" which I adored. My mom took a duck leg with a gratin dauphinois which was very good. For dessert, I took a delicious pear pie and my mom took a "crème brulée" (burnt cream) with custard aromatized with lavender taste.

Ma mère a pris un cocktail "Amour Volage" à base de jus de citron, jus d'orange, jus de pamplemousse et menthe fraiche. My mom took a cocktail "Changeable Love" with lemon juice, orange juice, grapefruit juice and fresh minth.

Le restaurant est aussi accessible aux végétariens et végétaliens. Il existe un menu enfant et même un menu bébé qui ne sont pas constitués de nuggets et frites mais des produits frais ! /The restaurant is also great for vegetarians and the vegans. There is a children's meal and even a baby meal which are not with nuggets and French fries but fresh products !

Et les chiens ? / And the dogs ?

Zadig a été accueilli avec une grande gentillesse et un bol d'eau. J'ai d'ailleurs vu d'autres personnes qui ont déjeuné avec leur chien avant de visiter le château et le parc. / Zadig was welcomed with kindness and a bowl of water. Moreover, I saw other people who lunched with their dog before visiting the castle and park.

Pour résumer, je vous dirais que ce restaurant est à l'opposé de ce que l'on peut imaginer en arrivant : ce n'est pas un restaurant pour touristes C'est un lieu où le bon produit est cuisiné pour vous donner du plaisir tout en restant dans un rapport qualité/prix très correct. C'est aussi un lieu où les serveurs aiment leur métier et discuter avec le client. Bref, pour moi c'est un sans faute. Je vous recommande très fortement de vous y rendre. 

To summarize, I would tell you that this restaurant is contrary to what we can imagine by arriving : it's not a restaurant for tourists. It's a place where the good product is cooked to give you pleasure while staying in a correct value for money. It's also a place where the waiters like their job and to discuss with the customer. In brief, for me it's one without fault. I recommend you very strongly to go there.
