This is my favorite castle of these holidays and, certainly, all the Loire valley "dog friendly". Langeais is the place where Anne of Brittany (two times queen of France) married secretly her first husband Charles VIII. Nevertheless, this castle is not so famous so, I guess, you will be surprise, it's my favorite visit.

We were allowed to follow the guided tour inside the castle with Zadig just on leach. Yes ! In all the other castles we visited, my dog was tolerated but in a bag. As Zadig weighs 10 kilos, all these visits were really quick for me. But here, in Langeais, I enjoyed the 45-50 minutes guided tour with Zadig at my feet "listening" the visit. I adored the guided tour. I learnt full of things (for an enthusiast of history and guide of job it is a real compliment).
The park is very pleasant. It's human-sized with places where settle. I adored the Middle Ages reconstituted scaffold and Zadig was the first to climb at the very top. I also liked the view on the Loire from the small headland. My mother spent time to admire the illuminations which decorated the park.
There is a booklet for children (only in french) which is very good.
